Our History

We opened a new chapter in October 2025 inspired by our love of great food and coffee.
Caffè by Rosine's grew out of our long-standing family tradition at Rosine's Restaurant in downtown Monterey, a local favorite since 1980. Created as a more casual extension of the restaurant, it reflects the same care and hospitality our family has shared for three generations. ~ Jim, Susan and John Culcasi

Featuring John's craft coffee drinks, such as our cookie butter latte and chocolate banana cloud. Italian sodas, housemade cold brew, cold foam and fresh squeezed juices, and brewed teas along with seasonal favorites. Breakfast favorites from avocado toast to breakfast burritos, hot and cold sandwiches, panini's, artisan flatbreads and a few Rosine's classics like our beef minestrone soup and lasagna.
You'll also find a grab-and-go case stocked daily with quarts of soup, fresh salads, sandwiches, pastas, and ready-to-enjoy meals. Rosine's cakes, pies, cheesecakes, cookies, and brownies are here for easy pick up with plenty of parking. Beer, wine and mimosas also available.

Monterey Herald readers recently voted for Caffè by Rosine's in the categories-  'Best Coffee Shop', 'Best Restaurant in Seaside and Sand City', and 'Best Place to Satisfy your Sweet Tooth'.
 

Guy Fieri, the star of Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, filmed an episode at Rosine's downtown location titled "Stuffed and Twisted," which airs frequently.
